With Vice President Jason Harris sitting in for President Natalie Johnson, we held a ZOOM meeting on September 4. Those participating were Mark Stern, Jason Harris, Joyce Davis, Shirley Caylor, Dick Hagelberg, Don Parker, Wendell Carey, Mike Doyne, Gene Ayers, Dorreen Carey, District 6540 Governor John Frischie, and Jack Tonk. After the pledge to the flag and invocation, we went right into trivia questions. The theme was National Bowling League Day. We learned that the original game was called "Nine Pins", that there are 39 boards in an alley, from the foul line to the head pin measures 60 feet, and Jim Beam distillery was the first to put bourbon in a bowling pin shaped bottle.  Happy Bucks were given by Joyce Davis for remembering this ZOOM meeting; Mike Doyne for polio being eradicated from the African continent; Dick Hagelberg for the great weather; Gene Ayers for all of these Happy Bucks; and Jason Harris for the recent rain fall. We noted the September birthdays of George McGuan, Don Parker, Carl Hunter, Mike Doyne, Wendell Carey, and Joyce Davis.

Discussion was held on sponsorship of a major project benefiting the city of Gary in honor of our upcoming 100 anniversary, including helping Habitat for Humanity, a virtual wine tasting/gourmet meal.

Dorreen Carey mentioned a thank you from the Gary Housing Authority for food donated to residents from the Rotary Garden.
